A talented local artist will be featured in a showing of his works at The Gallery, in Texarkana, July 20.
Artist Kendrick Adams utilizes multiple mediums including acrylic, watercolor, photography, and indelible markers, Adams has created a body of works from his home and teaching life.“I teach all of these media, and more to my students,” said Adams, who is an art instructor at Hope High School. “During classes, I create demonstration art for my students to understand how to use the media.”
The showing will feature multiple works by Adams including his acrylic “Daughter, Daddy Dance,” which is a slice of life portrait of a young girl dressed for her first daughter-daddy outing in vivid colors against a soft, textured setting.
“When not in school, I create more mature work, both to keep in training, and for personal pleasure and sale,” Adams said.
A reception will open the showing on July 20 from 2-4 p.m. at The Gallery in downtown Texarkana at Front and Olive streets.
The exhibition showing will continue through the month of August from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays.
