The men and women of Barksdale Air Force Base's 2nd Medical Group were devastated to lose a beloved friend, Tech Sgt. Perry Bailey, Jr. a few short weeks ago.
T/Sgt. Bailey loved running and participated in several marathons, including Shreveport's "Heroes Marathon" and "The Chevron Marathon" in Houston.
So there was no better way to honor T/Sgt. Bailey than with a memorial run.And there is absolutely no doubt that this well-liked Barksdale medic who was beloved not only at Barksdale but in the wider community — especially among Shreveport-Bossier area first responders — would be so proud that his fellow 2nd Medical Group colleagues and friends made this event happen.
A homecoming celebration for T/Sgt. Bailey was held on July 18, 2019 in San Antonio, and he is buried with honor at Fort Sam Houston Army Base.
The 2nd Medical Group's memorial run was very successful. Here are photos from the big event which hopefully provided comfort and fun to Airmen who will always remember their good-natured friend and colleague.
